At the recent Ability Central Grantee Gathering, CIR proudly shared its achievements and milestones, marking a year of impactful leadership training programs. Crystal Cardenas, our Associate Director, reflected on the strides made in empowering professionals in critical fields such as child sexual assault, abduction, and forensic interview training.

In 2023, CIR expanded its renowned "train the trainer" accessibility program, originally aiming for 16 participants. However, the response far exceeded expectations, with 54 professionals joining the program. This overwhelming interest underscores the pressing need for accessible training in these crucial areas.

Through this program and other initiatives, CIR's impact has transcended California's borders, reaching communities far and wide. Our success story was recently featured in a post by Ability Central, showcasing our commitment to fostering accessibility and inclusivity.

Crystal Cardenas shared, “It was inspiring to be amongst professionals who are leading the way in disability inclusion. I left the gathering feeling grateful to have connected with others who feel as passionate for this work as CIR does.”

Looking ahead, we're excited about the potential to continue making a meaningful difference together. Here's to many more successes and transformative initiatives in the future!
