Course Overview:
In this webinar, we will discuss Living Doe cases, how law enforcement and social workers can work together to aid in the identification of these individuals. Case studies and lessons learned will be covered. Valuable resources pertaining to Living Doe cases will be provided as well.
This training is presented by Leah Walsh.
About the presenter:
Leah Walsh graduated from California State University Chico in 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree in anthropology and a certificate in Forensic Human Identification. She joined the Missing and Unidentified Persons Section (MUPS) in 2017 as a student and she is now the Crime Analyst Supervisor in the unit.
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
1) Describe what constitutes a Living Doe and identify at least three common issues seen with these types of cases.
2) Compare at least two case studies and assess if a case is done well or poorly.
3) Compile a list of resources specific to Living Doe cases and apply one resource to potentially prevent at-risk children from becoming a Living Doe.
