Course Description:

This webinar explores how technology can contribute to the victimization of children through social media and interpersonal contact. Information and access to resources for prevention and education will be furnished. 

Following this webinar, participants will:

1.     Provide a proactive response to technology threats to children

2.     Resources to assist with technology facilitated investigations

3.     Provide prevention & education resource material

Participants will have the chance to submit their questions before and during the session. 

Presenter:

Lt. Brian K. Spears has been with the San Jose Police Department since 1997. He is formerly the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Commander as well as the Child Exploit Detail Supervisor. Brian is also a sworn member of the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force. He has hosted and facilitated various law enforcement symposiums on child exploitation. In addition, Brian has served as a detective in Homicide, Assaults, and Financial Crimes.
